Has this happened to youYou see a posting for a internal job in another state and you fit all the requirements, so you apply. To apply for the job you have to use the web site and it’s pretty much cut and dry on how to apply.
Either you don’t hear anything or a quick note they found someone else. It almost seems that the company is looking for an outside candidate. I have even seen after a "we have found another candidate" they keep running the job posting. To try to help my cause I have even looked up those department heads and sent them a email adding extra details I couldn’t add in my application.
When I started here one person told me the reason they are quitting is that they were pigeon holed in their job and there was no way they could move out of it. For a while I thought it was just them.
Has anyone else seen this? It is possible that the reason the posting keeps running is because human resources doesn't take it down. Because the job is in another state, that may be the answer for why you are not receiving an interview. Perhaps your company doesn't want to relocate someone. Why they are not at least informing you via internal email that you didn't get the job or the reason why, is just wrong. But, apparently, I am in the minority when I expect employers to actually treat candidates like human beings who deserve even an ounce of respect. | |
