Interview Follow Up LetterI recently had an interview with a company for a position that I am very interested in and well qualified for. Interview went well, but I wrote what I feel was a very weak follow up thank you email. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Write another email, call the HR person and expand on my interest in the job, anything? I really want this job and want them to know that. Any suggestions on what I should do?
You may think it was weak, but they may not. And sending a follow up seems odd at the very least. Let it go and see what happens, IMO. You had your interview and you wrote your thank you (which may have been the only one they received). Honestly, any thank you is better than none, but many hiring managers don't care one way or the other what is written. The mere fact that you wrote it is what makes the biggest impression followed by the format and then the content.. At this point, just wait for a couple of weeks. If you haven't heard anything, then give them a call and inquire as to the status of the position and, if possible, your status as a candidate. Unless you wrote something along the lines of:
I wouldn't worry about it.
Thanks for the feedback. Makes sense what you wrote. I'll try to quit worrying.
