Interesting Situation..HELPAfter all the fiasco's of the past three months while looking for a job..i think i finally had a experience that tops the cake...and is also making me a little anxious. Here's what happened... A week ago I interviewed at a company that I know and have dealt with in the past...(The retail company I used to work for used them as facilities management). I am a little anxious since I filled out all the paperwork with my personal information on it...including the photo copy that the manager took of my drivers license and my social security card. I am so confused. Can anyone shed light on as what happened? Yes, contact them. First thing in the morning. Your personal information cannot be left lying around for any cleaning personnel who may legally challenged to pick up. None of that information should even have been filled out until the first day of your employment and you should never have been asked to do so. It may have been a good idea on your part to have stated that you did not feel comfortable signing employment paperwork until the day you are hired. Don't leave messages, either. You are in a great position to be a victim of identity fraud.
You should call and find out what happened. It may just be that it is taking a little longer than expected for them to all you in, which happens often. At my last position I was told a person could not start working until the company receives all the paperwork. This wasn't true at previous positions, but I had been out for some time and things change. You should not have to worry about your paperwork because it would have immediately been considered an employee file, and employee files are always kept locked up unaccessible except to necessary personnel. | |
