Getting the InterviewHi,
I was wondering if anyone has any advice/direction for me. I was called by a company that I am very interested in joining. I spoke to a district HR manager, after a few quick questions, she said she would setup an interview for me with the Hiring Manager at the location where the opening is. 3 days went by and no call, so I called the HR manager to ask if there were any updates on the schedule interview, she said no. She said she was still trying to scheduled it. Now its been 4 more days and no word. It's coming up on a week since they contacted me with interest. I really want this job, but they seem to be dragging thier feet, or something. It is frustrating. I don't want to call again, just to say hi, i havent heard from you. Any advice? Please ? Thanks
Just hang in there for a while. You would think that if they need someone for the position, they wouldn't be dragging their feet. But there may be legitimate reasons for the delay. I have been waiting a few weeks to hear from a company for which I interviewed to be a store manager or assistant manager. The positions are still open, so there must be some reason for the delay, even though I would think they would need a manager. They have more than one store owned by the company in the area and sometimes they work more than one store until they find the right candidate.
Being in upper management: unfortunately HR faces numerous obstacles and they do take sometime to schedule and coordinate. It takes a conserted effort of the entire management team to ensure that they have time set aside for the interviewing process, so be patient and I am sure they will schedule with you shortly. | |
