Not as desirableI've been staying at home with my child for almost a year now, but need to return to work for financial reasons. In the past, I'd get a lot of calls and interivews shortly after posting my resume. But I was working then. This time it's different--few calls, few responses from submitted resumes. I think it's because I'm not working and my resume reflects that. So, do I put on my resume why I've been out of work for almost a year now? Or in my cover letter? I did that, but it didn't seem to make a difference. I know that I'm a strong employee, but this job gap seems to be a real negative to employers. | |
