Sending e mail and hard copy of resume

I responded to an ad for an ideal position (or so it seems) and at least want to land an interview with them.  I'd like to see if the job is what it seems and, if so, have a chance to sell myself to them.

The ad requested resumes via email and specifically stated 'No phone calls please'.  Although every resume resource and headhunter says to follow-up with a phone call within a week of sending the email, I obviously won't do that in this situation.

Would it be overkill or inappropriate to send a hard copy of my resume via snail mail?  I like to think it would make a positive impression, with a high quality paper and envelope, neatly-typed standing out in the crowd from the electronic cookie-cutter resumes.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

They stated no phone calls, but they did not state that you could ot follow up via e-mail. Since you already sent your resume through their e-mail as they requested, sending one postal would not make a whole world of difference. When you are called for an interview, bring a copy of your resume. I noticed whenever I received an invitation to an interview after I had emailed my resuem, they appreciated a fresh copy.

Even if they don't ask for it or they don't want it because they are going to go off of the emailed resume, the interviewer can see the quality of the resume you bring. Professionals can recognize quality paper, fonts, colors, etc just on sight.
