Resume Follow upFour days is really nothing. Wait a full 7 days, at least. Keep checking wherever it is that you saw the advertisement. If the ad is still running, then the decision has probably been made to keep the ad in for a pre-determined amount of time before contacting candidates. How you follow up is strictly what you feel most comfortable with. Personally, I always liked to contact people by phone because it gives me the actual sense of connecting with someone. Leaving a message on a voice mail is, in most cases, not going to net you a return call. And, remember, also, that the majority of hiring authorities don't contact anybody except for those they want to contact and leave everybody else hanging.
I applied for a job that described about 90% of what I use to do at my old job. I totally understood everything that was mentioned in this company's job description. It has been 4 days and I haven't heard from them. How do I follow-up? Do I call them? Or send them another e-mail to confirm that they did receive my resume? I would love to get this job becuase of my knowledge and the fact that it's only 4 miles away from home, but I don't want to seem too pushy and scare my opportunity away. Any thoughts???
Thank you, I will keep that in mind even for future job applications. | |
