How many days (approx.) is enough timeI've seen this question many times and the answers vary to some degree. How much time should elapse between a first and second interview? I've heard that people in a good position to be hired are called back within a week and that all others are typically not notified at all. The first interview was last Tuesday. I provided four references. I received a call on Thursday about my salary requirements. I called the recruiter who referred me on Monday and he said he'd 'put a call in and let me know'. Today is Wednesday, more than a week later from the first meeting. I'm still interviewing at other places but I'd really like to hear from this place. Has too much time elapsed to remain hopeful? Thanks! There is no rule for this at all. It is totally out of your control. It could be later the same day or someone could be brought in to the interview you're already in, or it could be weeks out. Since you just interviewed a week ago Tuesday, Iand talked to them again on Thursday, 'd give this some more time. If you don't hear from them by this Friday, call the recuiter on Tuesday of next week.

This depends on how long you intend on suffering. Following an interview, I mark off 30 days on my calendar and then its over for that company. And following an interview, I go home and send out 5 more resumes.
You need to wait for however long it takes, realizing two things. First, that you may never get a call inviting you back for another interview, handing you an offer or saying that you didn't get the job. Two, you cannot put all your hopes on that one interview but continue to send, send, send your resume out to other companies for consideration. The range you need to wait can be from later that very day to the end of time. (But, let's hope you don't have to wait that long). There is just no hard and fast rule. There should be, but there isn't. | |
