How to follow up on online resumeHey, everyone, another post for me. Seems like only the new posts get any responses..haha I applied for a job last Wednesday thru the company's website (which is where it directed me to after clicking 'apply now' from Monster)---it gave me the automated response I guess in my e-mail inbox that was my resume/CV was received. I now want to follow up. It gave the location/address of the position on the website, so I did a search on Yahoo Yellow Pages for their phone #. When I called it, it was an automated message such as "for so & so press 2" etc etc...when I pressed 0 thinking I was going to go back to maybe the front desk or something it led me back to the main automated menu. It's a rather large company, so do I call the main 800# & ask for HR?? I have no idea what to do, I don't want to wait too much longer. I'm no expert on following up-----if you apply online, especially on a company's website, how do you find a phone # to follow up? Who do you talk to? What is the best way to go about this Any responses welcomed!! I need some good advice! email the company and call them and email them ??? There is never any e-mail address or contact info for jobs anywhere on their website. There is always just a main 800# when I look it up in the phone book. When I tried to call them, I got about 2 different areas of the company only for them to basically tell me that if I'm selected for a position, I would be contacted--almost like a "don't call us, we'll call you" thing-----------UGH, WHY IS IT SO HARD TO GET A CALL BACK on jobs you apply to online???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | |
