frustrating job search
I currently am employed at a local area bank doing customer service call center work. I like the job but the pay is not what was proposed to me upon interview and acceptance of the position. I have been in banking for the last 10 years in various positions but none of them managment. I would like to advance to that next step in my career and not necessarily in banking. The problem is in order to make the step you have to have experience, in order to get experience it seems you have to suffer for 5 years in a position that is not meeting financial needs. This is very frustrating. I have my bachelors degree and I don't understand why I am not getting the same offers and opportunities others with less experience and less education are getting. I am very frustrated to the point of anger, can someone please offer me some tips on how to make that next step? I have started appling for assistant manager and management traniee positions so I know that is one baby step to make....help!!!!
That IS the step to take. And yes, you do have to suffer through the entry-level spots to get to the ones you want.
