Waiting for job offer

4 weeks ago I had a first interview with a company.  The owner had a family emergency and had 2 of his employees meet with me.  He called me the next week to set up 2nd interview.  I met with him and his partner and 3 other employees.  He told me that he would contact me to let me know about the position.  The next week I got anxious and called to see where the interview process was and he said he was still interviewing and would let me know this week.  Yesterday I received an email stating that he is still interviewing and wanted to know if I was still interested in the position. I replied to his email that I was still interested and if he had any more questions to contact me.

My question is: should I email him again and ask what information about me is lacking that he has is sill looking for someone to fill the position or should I just wait a little longer?

He probably isn't lacking any pertinent information regarding you, but his family emergency situation has probably resulted in many of the interviews being rescheduled and undoubedly he is taking his time to be sure he picks the proper candidate.

The fact that an email was sent to you requesting information on continued interest may indicate that you are in the top range of candidates he is interested in. You have already answered that email with an affirmative and he hasn't asked you for anything more.

Wait until the end of the week and then call or email. Whatever is the preferred method of communication.

hi i ve been thru this situation with a hugh company, three phone interviews, two in person interview, and a 3.5 hour drive to get to the facility. i learned my lesson, if you do not have it in writing, then dont waste you time, i got strung along for more than month!  i was offerd the job by them, never had it writing, had to wait for the last phone call, on the last inteview when i drove up to the faciltiy, these guy liked me i like them, we had a great interview, they took me out to lunch..the whole nine! over a week later i was waiting for the the heads up!! nothing finally i called the recuiter, no answer and i called a week later, and he had the nerve to tell me that they had a transfer from with in the company. and it was an easier transition for them.!!!but he'll keep me in mind! thats nice!

so my advice is DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! IF YOU ARE GETTING STRUNG ALONG AND ITS BEEN A MONTH OR MORE. KEEP POSTING YOUR RESUME..GET MORE INTERVIEWS.. CHANCES ARE THAT THIS COMPANY DOESNT CARE! THERE IS NO QUALITY OF LIFE! AND GET THE OFFER ON PAPER!! GOOD LUCK

I have heard that if they take you out to lunch, it could not be a good sign.  They are still trying to figure out if you are the best fit.

I,was also in the same situation like that. They tell you oh will call you then you sit back and wait for awhile

for the follow ups and no reply. I,just move on and have good faith that I, will find a better company than the one  I,applied for.
