What To Do Next

I live in the suburbs of Detroit and everything revolves around how Auto goes. I feel your pain. I' m an engineer with 30 plus years experience and an advanced degree in Engineering management. So, my dilemma is keeping my resume short enough so employers aren' t turned off by the length but, long enough to ensure my strengths are highlighted.

Using more than one agency is fine but keep copious notes cause you will find yourself confused on who sent you where for what!

One tactic that might seem weird but what' s weird anymore?

Try emailing or faxing your resume and cover during the middle of the night. 3:00am or so. Why? You will be the first email the employer has on their screen or the first fax on their desk.

This actually worked for a friend of mine, twice.

I' m not sure but why not.....anything to give you the leg up, right?

That midnight resume send off is a cool idea.  I' m usually up late and I' m sure I' ve done it once or twice, but the thing is, does it really matter so long as you have the qualification to meet their needs? My resume can be the first thing on their desk in the morning, but if it doesn' t do, it might still end up in the trash.  I don' t know.  I' m out of ideas on how to make it work.  Been job searching forever now since forever and I' m just losing faith in ever finding a job.
