Getting A Job When You Have A JobI am currently working and interviewing at the same time. It is so hard to schedule interviews, especially those with some traveling distance, while I am still working. I don' t want to cause suspicion but I don' t think 10 root canals are gonna fly or either that or they think I must never brush my teeth! I have an interview this Wed. morning at 8 A.M. and one on Friday at 2:00 and another next Wednesday at 3:30. I was going to call the one for Friday and the one for next Wednesday and ask them if I could reschedule them for Monday and then take a vacation day from work. How understanding are potential employers of interviewing people who currently have a job. We all know that it is better to have a job to get a job, but it is hard as hell to interview without missing massive time from work. Anybody out there have similar experiences and how did you deal with it. Thank-you very much!! I understand the predicament you're in. I don't have a car and have to commute 40 minutes each way to my current job. I live in a business distict and work downdown, so I would like to find something closer to home. It can be incredibly difficult at times to schedule interviews due to distance and time constraints, but I have learned a couple of things. 1) Schedule the time that is most convenient for you and when you feel it won't raise suspicion. 2) Employers must be flexible with your schedule and your needs. While I (personally) try to remain flexible with my schedule, under the circumstances I will not do interviews at the last minute with anyone. I hope this has helped, even if it is just a little :-) | |
