Career Tips

So frustrated I am going out of my mind!

Just a little about me before I get started venting...

Im 26 and I have worked for the past 5 years at Best Buy in New York. I started off as a FT Customer Service and got promoted 5 times in 5 years. When I left about two months ago, I was a Asst. Manager. Leaving was probably one of the most difficult and heartbreaking things I have ever had to do. But it was the right thing to do.

And now here I am...still no job and getting more and more frustrated everyday. It seems like no one will hire me...
I am running out of strength to continue this.

I must have sent my resume out to a 75 places give or take a few....and nothing.... I have gotten a few calls and gone on a few interviews but nothing so far.

I dont know what I am doing wrong..

I feel like a loser.

Ok..I feel a little better.

Don' t feel like I loser, I know that is easier said than done in your position, but you can and WILL land a job, just keep putting your resume' out there.  Also, sell yourself!  Make a person understand why you need to be a part of their company.  I live in an economically depressed area, when there' s NO recession or even a sign of one.  Basically, everyone clamors for the same jobs!  I left one job, that was a sales job, mentally draining and degrading, but it paid well.  I felt good pay,  was not worth my sanity, I eventually left, but I could not leave, until I found something.  I hustled and hustled my butt off, all the while, going to a job I literally hated, and having interviews during my lunch break!  Finally, something gave and I am currently on that job now, liking what I do.

I said that to say this, it is not easy now.  The days are gone, when you could move from dot com to dot com, the ball WAS in the employees court, now it has been in the employers court for some time now.  People are so competetive, and the least blemish on your resume' or someone with a months more of experience than you, can get the job.  Also, I don' t know if you believe in God or not, I do, and prayer helps!  Trust me, you will get a job!
