Relocation
If you're in the process of relocating to another state, do you keep your current address on your resume or use a local address in the state where you wish to relocate to. Many companies think you expect them to pay for relocation, and therefore, pass over your resume when seeing a different state of residence. What would you do?
Use the new address. I was once forced into relocating due to a major economic decline in my hometown, and had zero luck until I used an address in my target city. Even then, it may still take a carefully crafted cover letter and resume since all of your employment history will be elsewhere. Good luck!
I' d expect them to pay. I think you should use both addresses. When you write your cover letter, include a section about your current work history in City A, but that you are planning to relocate to City B. | |
