Interview but no feedback
I have been told my resume is very impressive many times, so i don'tthink that is the problem. I've had a few interviews. The first took my application a week before the interview and the dayof the interview they acted like they were not interested in talking tome - like they were just going thru the motions and the interviewersaid some really strange things. They have since posted the jobagain. Another told me right after that I was a top candidate. Then theycalled the next day and said I was top candidate and i would hear backfrom them by Friday. Then I sent in my application and Friday hassince come and gone. I have not hear anything and they haveposted the job again. I read that under the Fair Credit Reporting Act that if I am denied ajob based on information in the background check report, I should beprovided a copy of the report. I get no response atall from these jobs. Should I call them and ask why I have beendenied ? Thanks in advance. It sounds like in the first instance, the company had already hired someone for the position, but did not want to tell you. They may have placed an ad that was to run a certain number of days, and then found their potential candidate before the ad expired. The new posting of the position says that person did not work out, and in addition you got strange vibes from the interviewer. That tells me you may not want to work for a company like that anyway, because there are obviously hidden agendas. A call to the other places to ask if they based their decision on your credit report would not be a bad idea, especially if you believe there is negative information in the report. You may then request a copy of the report from the credit agency if the answer is affirmative. Hope this information helps.
Thanks Melissa.... this is very helpful. that's agood point, the first interviewer may have already selected acandidate. Your right, i did getsome bad vibes from that interviewer. The interviewer used wordsand phrases that were the same as what my past boss said (ex-bossliked to tear me down in public and was one to spincomplaints). It appears he (or someone hecomplained to about me) is still trying to hurt me. Itseemed likethe interviewer was trying to tip me off and check my responses tonegative things my pastboss said about me. | |
