Interview Advice on Working Hours

Hi all, I am fairly new to the Boards and have not been on an Interview for several years since I have been in the same job.   I have an interview scheduled for the end of the week within the same company but for a promotion.   The current employee works 8:30 to 5:00 with an hour for lunch.   I currently work 7:30 to 4:00 with a 1/2 hour lunch.   I am wondering if I should ask the person who is conducting th interviews if they would consider keeping these hours before I even go on the actual interview.    I cannot work 8:30/5:00 due to child accomodations and do not want to waste their time if it is not even a possibility.   Thanks in advance for any input/advice.

I think if you ask your question in advance of the interview your answer will be a flat no.  But, if you do the interview, wow them with just how perfect you are for the job, and ask at the end of the interview how flexible they can be on the hours, you may have a shot at getting the schedule that you want.  Assuming that the hours can be adjusted and aren't required for some sort of office coverage that can't be fiddled with.  Basically what I am saying is if you pass on the interview you are giving up your chance to convince them that there would be a good reason to adjust the hours, to get the perfect employee, YOU!
