I was talking to my daughter, who's a retail manager, about interviews.  She gave me this thumbnail sketch:

If the applicant is late for the interview, they'll be late for work,

If they don't have a pen at the interview, they'll never have a pen,

If they dress inappropriatly for the interview, dress will be a problem on the job.

She says she she's amazed at the dumb comments applicants make.  "I didn't like my last job, because I had to sell women's clothes and women blah, blah, ...  Women buy men's clothes, why hire a sales person who admits they don't want to deal with women?
