2nd phone interview...DM didnt call

This situation has never happened to me and I'm not sure how to handle it.  I had a phone interview this past Monday with a pharm. company.  The interview went well and the hiring manager told me that she would forward my info over to the DM in the area I would be working.  Well, the DM calls me yesterday, the phone rings once and she hangs up.  I see a # I don't recognize so I call it back to find out who it was.  She tells me that she is the DM for the pharm. company and wants to set up a phone interview.  We set it up for today in between 2 and 3 pm.  I'm sitting by the phone at 2 pm waiting for the call...and I wait...and I wait...and I wait some more.  Now it's 3 pm and still no phone call.  So...I wait...and I wait again.  Finally it gets to be 3:45 pm and still no call.  I say to myself..."OK, maybe she got hung up in a meeting.  I'll just call her to let her know that I will reschedule with her since our time has not been met.

I call her and after about 4 rings it sounds like a young teenager answers and once I start speaking he immediately hangs up. shocked  I'm thinking...what in the world is going on here?

I'm not sure what to do at this point.  I've had managers call late before but I've never had one just not call at all.  She made the appointment but didn't keep it.  I called her and she didn't answer or bother to call me back.  Should I make another run at it on Monday morning?

I've never heard of such a wide time frame, calling between 2 and 3pm? Most phone interviews I've done have been at a specific time.

Calling can't hurt, it can't get much worse! I'd wait till Tuesday though. Give her Monday to call back, no response then call Tuesday, I'd try between 10 and 3, may keep from teenagers answering what probably is a work cell phone.

If no response, try calling the hiring manager and ask for some clearification.

That's what I was thinking.  I will wait until next week and if I don't hear from her again then I'll call her.  I just don't want to jump over her head and call the hiring manager before trying to call her again.  She will be my potential boss and I don't want to stir waves before even coming into the company.

She may have been working from home the day she called you.  If that's the contact number you're using, that explains the teen.

Wait a week and then contact them at their main number and ask for her.
