Interview or notA couple weeks ago I applied for a position via online and also by phone to confirm that my resume was received. I then had received an offer from a prior interview with another company which I had interviewed with a few months ago and they are still interested and made me an offer better than the first one I received. I followed up to see if the company I am interested started the interview process and if they were considering me so that I could make a better decision. I was told that they are interested and would be contacting me. It has been another week now and I soon need to respond to the offer from the other company. My only concern is that the company offering me a job includes about a 25 minute drive and there is no health or disability benefits and the pay is less than I was making before. The other company offers full benefits and is much closer in distance. Do I contact them again and tell them I have an offer and that I am interested in their company and find out when they might start interviewing, do I wait for them to make a move, or do I just make a decision without considering the other company as a possible employment option. I already made the company who made me an offer aware that I already had some other things in the works and that I was not able to give them a decision yet. Since you already contacted the 2nd company once, and have not heard from them in a week, I would say make one more phone call, and tell them that you still hadn' t heard anything, and have another offer you have to reply to, so you were wondering if they still are planning on bringing you in or not. If they don' t give you a definite date then, I would say forget it. | |
