Job offer to soonMy company is being taken over and the whole Operations Department is being let go. My last day for employment is 6/15/07. I waited to start looking for a job because between severance pay and retention bonuses, I have a lot to lose if I leave too soon. I started looking and went on an interview this past Monday. I was called for a 2nd interview on Wednesday. All my paperwork and resume say I am not available to work until 6/18/07. I know this company is interested and I feel and offer coming soon. Did I start looking too early???
Why don't you wait and see what they say? I would much rather trade one-time pay for more security in the form of a job. You may wait until you are closer and then not be able to find anything for a few months and you will have traded the one-time pay for the loss of wages while you are unemployed. | |
