interview follow upI had an interview last friday with the President/Owner of a company and it went really well. At the end of the interview she said "if you're still interested I would definitely like to talk to you again next week." I said yes and she said she would be in touch the first part of the week. (I think she was still interviewing and hadn't quite figured out if she was going to run a second interview or just be able to hire for the position.) It is Wednesday and I haven't heard back. How long should I wait to follow up with her? What should I say when I do call? Thank you in advance for your help!! Call her on Tuesday of next week if you haven't heard back. She probably hasn't made any decisions yet.

hehe...next week seems sooooo far away!!!!
She said she'd be getting back with you the first part of the week. I say wait till Friday. Put it off any longer and you may very well end up looking as though you have poor follow up skills or are not really interested in the position. Remember, potential employers can use strategies such as not calling back when they promise as a tool to test you on your follow up, persistence, and interest in the position. how do i appropriately address the issue when I follow up? I mean I want to tell her I'm following up and that I'm still interested in the position but then what? "I wanted to touch base with you regarding the position and see where things are at and what the next steps are in the process"
thank you!! | |
