yet another follow up question

I have been in a very long interview process with a big brand for a newly created role. This all started Jan 29 - several phone conversations with the following in this order:

Hiring manager 1/29

HR Manager    2/8

Email correspondence with HR 2/27

1st interview with Hiring manager 3/9

Sent email and written thank yous after each interaction.

I last checked in 3/23 and was told they' d contact me about next steps in early April.  Saw an interesting article on the competition of this company and forwarded to hiring manager week of April 2.

Should I follow-up again? I am dying out here but still optimistic.

The danger with follow-up letters or emails or phones is that they might easily be considered pushy if you are not careful at sending small and rather seldom "doses" :) You understand what I mean, I' m sure. But...there is one thing called a "letter of continuing interest" which will allow you obtain the info you want:
However, my advise is not to send follow ups too often because if they bothered having you interviewed so many imes, this happened for a reason, right?

I would think that if you don't hear by Friday, it's time to call again. You have not been overly pushy and you have waited past early April (which, in my mind, is April 1-10).

Thanks for your postings. I agree with both of you.

I do believe it has gotten this far for a reason (me and my performance thus far).

I have not been pushy and I agree that I can follow-up again early next week if I hear nothing. I just wanted to bounce that off some objective folks.

And when you do that follow up, it should be a phone call, not an email, to the HR contact to ask what the status of the position is.  If they haven' t decided yet, ask when you should check back again.
