Got past the phone interview

I made it through the phone interview and have been asked to meet with the hiring manager.

I' m a number person when it comes to this stuff. Maybe there isn' t a right answer, but more an average number: but how many people are typically asked to come in for a sit down interview after the phone screening. Do companies limit it to bringing in the top 5 phone interviews? top 3? top 10? or just bring in everyone that seems qualified to some extent?

I don' t think there is a percentage or a certain number of people who are asked to meet face to face after a phone interview. The people whose resumes show that they have the minimum qualifications, requirements, etc are the ones who are contacted by phone. But, the people who answer the questions, demonstrate proper phone etiquette and whatever else the phone interviewer is "looking" for are the ones who are invited to meet face to face. It could very well be that everyone is invited. Or it could be that the phone interviewer takes just those people who "score" above 80 on her questions.

Only the company really knows for sure how they are going to qualify people for the next round.

It depends on who is doing the interviewing.  IHR brings in everyone they can, they love that stuff.  The hiring manager probably has real work to do, so he' ll try to minimize it.  When I got the job I have now, I was the only candidate.  It was pass/fail.

Depends.  In some cases the purpose of the phone screens is to cut the pile of resumes down to a manageable number.  It is the rare case that they will do 10 phone screens and then bring in 10 candidates.  Realistically,  is 3 - 5 BUT it does not matter. You did the hard part --getting to a f-2-f.

Prep like you are interviewing against five other qualified people and you will be prepared.
