How Do I get this interviewI submitted my resume via the company website for an internship this summer. That was 03/15/07. On Friday 03/30 I received an email for an HR recruiting stating that she was impressed with my resume and had some additional questions. She asked me my date of availability, major, GPA, things like that. I replied the same day. So today is Wednesday and I have not heard anything else from them. What should be my next step to ensure I at least get an interview? I feel like by now they should have followed up but maybe I am just being impatient. Should I contact her or just wait a little longer? By my calendar the 30th was Friday and today is Wednesday. You need to be a lot more patient. You can call them next week on Tuesday if you haven' t heard by then to ask what the status is. There is nothing you can do however, to ENSURE you get an interview. That ball is totally in their court. It' s a summer job AND they took two weeks to call you. They aren' t in a hurry and you can' t push them too much. Call next week with the intention of scheduling an interview. I would suggest your giving them at least a week or two to review things. After all, they' ve probably got other things going on and you might not be their top priority. Being too impatient and "bothering them" makes you look bad. And so, I would definitely suggest you give them another week and then send a follow-up to ask about when you might hear. This way, you are behaving both professional and respectful, which make you look good! It seemed to me that since they already initiated the process that they would have continued to move it forward. I was expecting to hear from them as soon as I answered their questions, but obviously that was the wrong assumption. Thanks again. I will wait a little longer before contacting them. | |
