What questions to askI have an interview at christian church today. I am going to meet with the senior Pastor. What would be some good questions to ask him about the position that I am applying for. I always get stuck in asking good questions. Could anyone please give me some advice on what questions to ask. It doesn' t really matter you' re interviewing with a Christian church or with an advertising company you know. Asking questions during an interview is a sign of the fact the job seeker is actually interested in the job he has applied for. In fact, you don' t have to sound over/interested so don' t go asking all sort of stupid questions. Don' t forget the ones related to health insurance and salary. Frankly, I thought that link did not offer good advise. If you are going to post advise on a web, the least you can do is make sure you spell right. (I mean the author, not the poster on this board) The first question has organization spelled wrong....WHAT!!!! It caught my eye immediately. Some of the other questions had the "what are you going to do for me" tone rather than visa verse. Like do you reimburse for travel? What did that question do to sell yourself to the prospective employer. In my mind nothing. Your questions should be just another way to market yourself and these questions should be designed with no less importance than the all important "tell me about yourself" question. Organization is the British way of spelling Organization. And when employers ask if you have any questions, they want you to ask questions. By asking questions about moving expenses, etc., it' s showing that you do really have an interest in the job. I' ve been in interviews before where I' ve asked only one or two questions and the interviewers seemed genuinely disappointing. I would ask him things like: How do you like working here? What is a typical day in the life of XXXXX position? What do you see as the short-term goals for the church? What makes this church unique? If someone has been in that position before, you could ask "what were some of the biggest challenges so and so faced in this position?" Anything that shows you are truly interested in the position and the work environment would be good. | |
