I really haven't heard of any that were legit. I have been toying with the idea of posting an advertisement in the papers letting people know that I am avaliable for transcription jobs. I am always seeing ads for transcriptionists but when I contact the person, they never return the call or email and after two such incidents with the same person I have written them off as illegitimate.

I also let people I contact by answering their ads that I will not pay them for the transcription jobs. And when they don't respond, I figure that money for a list of companies who I can contact to plead for work is exactly what they are advertising.

So, if you are going to go this route, try to get any information from them that you can before you commit to anything.
