Salary offer changed after interviewRecently I interviewed by a HR rep over the phone for a position. After the interview that went very well I was asked if 60' sk was in my realm. I said yes and was soon called for another interview. That interview went well and was asked what I was looking for and of course I said " I would like to make in the 60' s". Got to the offer stage which was sent to me via E Mail. The offer came in at 54k. I questioned it and was told that it' s the top offer they were willing to pay. I really liked the position but had to refuse the offer due to the fact they it was over 6k less than what I am making now. I assume that this issue is now dead but really would have liked to work for this company. Any suggestions whether or not I should continue to purse this position or how I would go about approaching them again??? I would be willing to negotiate somewhat.... It most likely means that when they reviewed your skills and experience, they felt you came in at $54. At this point, the offer is done and it is time to move on. Generally speaking, it doesn' t make sense to change jobs for less than 10-15% increase anyway (unless there' s something you hate about where you are). I found out that the HR made a mistake originally by stating in the 60' s. Actually I was more than qualified for the position but they wanted to pay only for an entry level person. But you are right, what was I thinking. Move on and never go backwards right. | |
