desparate!!What if you don' t have any examples to give about your strengths or your weakness?? Help! Oh, no...Don' t even go there because the sources are so many you are not allowed to say you don' t have weaknesses and strengths. As a matter of fact, if you do want a job, you will find them even if you must make them out :D. Come one, you cannot be serious...desperate just for this? I doubt that if you know what you should mention you won' t find something related directly to you at all. Good luck! Here is what I would recommend you doing. Sit down and think about your last job. Make a list of your STRENGTHS and WEAKNESSES. Usually they are going to be the same in your work as well as personal life. When I made my list, I had to think about it for several days. When I was daydreaming or sitting outside after mowing the lawn, I would try to be objective and truly list what I need to work on and where I excel. Here is my list: STRENGTHS: • Ability to motivate others. • Dedicated to completing tasks no matter how difficult. • Team Player who will help out anyone needing assistance to complete a project. • Looking at the whole picture instead of seeing inside the box on tough projects. WEAKNESSES: • Impatience wanting to complete any project NOW! • Dwelling on the past on making decisions today. • High risk taker, • Speaking before thinking. (This I have worked hard on and are conquering this demon). Be prepared to support your statements because some interviewers want to see how you methodically think out and reason with your abilities in a logical manner. I wouldn' t mention the one about speaking before thinking. That makes it sound like you' ll get the company sued a lot. Even if you say that you are working on it, I as an employer would feel much more secure hiring someone whose weaknesses are more along the lines of hating filing or trying to do everything all at once and needing to force themselves to prioritize. Some weaknesses are good to fess up to and explain what you have done to fix them, while others are better left for the employer to discover on their own. There is such a thing as too much honesty. True! BUT I mentioned that while interviewing with my current company and they hired me! A year later my immediate director tells me he has never seen me nor has other executive directors seen me talk before I think. Well, if that is the case, then I have learned something. I try to think about what I say BEFORE I say so I guess my determination to conquer this part of my weakness worked. Let me phrase it this way, you do not want to lie BUT you also want the job so make sure you SHINE! | |
