what to say about a job I was fired from

one of my job positions resulted in my getting terminated, but it was not my fault really.  The company was comming under new management and the new manager wanted there own staff.  That ment that everyone had to go.  How do I handle when they asked why I no longer work for that company?

sounds good to me.  If there was indeed "everyone had to go"  then the answer is 1) new management, 2) reorganization, 3) I hit the streets in the process.

You have to be careful. It may be your impression that the manager just wanted their own staff, but it may be that the manager perceived that the current staff was not cutting it and wanted them replaced.

You should call your former employer's HR department or your former supervisor and see how that are going to phrase it. That is how you have to phrase it. You can put as good a spin on it (such as calling it a "wholesale layoff") but don't sound bitter about being replaced.
