Should I follow up with anther Thank YouI went on an interview 2 weeks ago at a very respected worldwide company. I interviewed with the HR person and the Manager of the department. The interviews went well and lasted 2 hours. I followed up with Email thank you letters the next day. I have heard no response. We discussed the status of my current job, and I had talked about a bonus I was expecting on May 1. I indicated that I may want to stay through May 1 at my current job. I know they have not hired anyone yet because I know someone who works there. They had also asked me about salary. I had given them a range since they wanted this information to know if we were on the same track. They seemed satisfied with my salary range requirement. MY QUESTION - SHOULD I FOLLOW UP WITH ANOTHER LETTER - PERHAPS VIA U.S. MAIL? I really would like this job. Did I make any mistakes - and - do I need to write to clarify anything? You should call the HR contact, on the phone and ask what the status of the position is. If they haven' t decided yet, ask when you should check back again.
Since you know that a hiring decision has not been made as yet, then I believe there is no harm in sending another letter to show that you are still interested in working for them. The letter could, and probably will, remind them of the reasons why they should hire you. Stress those points that show your qualifications and the skills the company is looking for. Send this letter via postal mail. Or maybe, have your friend bring it in to the office of the hiring manager and put it in his/her in box. | |
