Long time between interviewsHey everyone, Here's the deal...I sent my resume in mid-February for a position that would be great for me. I got through the phone interview and was asked to meet for an interview in person. My 2nd interview went really well...I was even more excited about the position after I left (plus I was told that I was one of the top candidates). I was told to follow up the next week, which I did, and the person interviewing me happened to be going out of town for 3 weeks. They told me to follow up with them at the end of this month. I just wanted to know if any of you had experienced a long period between interviews??? It is frustrating. I don't think I am getting the run-around because the feedback has been positive, but you never know. Any words of wisdom? I' m going through it right now with not one, but two companies. For both, I went on first, second, and final interviews. First was over a month or so ago. They initially said they wanted to hire by end of February...and they' re just now checking references. The other I went in the second week of January (!), (they said they wanted to fill that next week)...and they' re just now finalizing the candidates (I' m one of two). It' s very frustrating, but you' re on their time schedule, not yours, and certain things may come up, so it' s just not a priority to them. It' s like pulling teeth waiting to hear, but what more can you do? Anyway, my point is, you' re not alone! Thanks for writing about your experience--it does make me feel better! I actually was going through it with two companies as well, but I eliminated myself from the second after hearing that they offer no benefits and 4 days off AFTER your first year of employment with the company. Um, thanks but no thanks. You are so right about things being on their time schedule. It is very easy to forget that. I hope you get the job that you want--best of luck! | |
