Politics of recruitment
HR responses are particularly appreciated. think I' m caught in some bureaucratic HR vs Recruiter issues. A month ago, I was submitted by Agency A for Position A and the employer passed me up without even an interview. Last week, Agency B got me an interview with the employer for postion B. The interviewer for position B noticed that I was more qualifed for Position A and I got an interview on the spot for Position A. After the interview, Agency B notified me that the employer is interested. *Today, the employer' s HR notified Agency B that I have already been submitted for Position A by Agency A. So now, there are two issues: 1) Will HR overule the hiring manager' s interest in me because I have already been passed up? 2) Will Agency B drop the ball because it is no longer in the recruiter' s interest to follow up? I have Agency A' s contact if 2) is the case, but is there some HR protocol or something that will resolve 1)?
Since Agency A originally submitted you, they "own" you. If hired, the company will have to pay A. B will likely lose interest in you. A should still care. At this point, you should just sit tight and see how the hiring thing goes. All the rest will be worked out between A, B and the Company. If the Company wants you, none of the A, B stuff will matter. | |
