Asking What Your Boss Thinks
What if you haven' t worked your present job very long and they ask you what I think my current boss will say about me? Is it ok to say "well, I have only been there for 5 weeks so I am not real sure but so far I am guessing they would say I am dependable" I am asking cause I got called for a phone interview(this was my first phone interview ever) and they asked me that and I was surprised. I rarely get asked that question at interviews. I kind of stumbled through it on the phone interview so I know it didn' t go very well. Will see if I get a call back next week to go on the real interview or not. This lady made a comment about "You don' t know if they like you?" She said it that way! Like I said..I told her I haven' t been there long so I have no idea but I hope they like me. But since she caught me so off guard I didn' t bother to say at that moment that I feel they would think I am dependable. I just want to be prepared for next time or tomorrow if that is what they ask me.
You' ve only been there 5 weeks, you' re interviewing for another job and you think that the current employer would describe you as "dependable"? Did the interviewer laugh when you said that? Leaving after such a short time is not what anyone would describe as dependable.
Yes, It' s ok that I am seeking a new job. I am working at Chili' s restaurant until I can find an office job with more hours. Working 2 days a week at Chili' s doesn' t exactly help pay the bills, its just something to get me out of the house for now. The interview I am going to tomorrow was fine about it too. She understood right away why I am seeking an office job. Its what I went to college for and I don' t really want to be working at restaurants. It' s just some sort of income to help right now. | |
