Your boss gives you an assignment.  It needs to be done ASAP.  You need to take data from various internal servers and compile a report.  You open a link.  ACCESS DENIED.  Excellent, you think.  They take security seriously here.  You call IT and explain the problem.  They tell you to log a ticket.  You tell them you need access ASAP.  They tell you they can't do anything until they get a ticket.  So you log a ticket. 

They close the ticket the next morning stating you now have access.  You log in.  ACCESS DENIED.  You call and tell them you do not have access.  They tell you to log a ticket.  You tell them that you already did, they look up the ticket and tell you that it was closed and you do have access.  You assure them you do not.  They tell you the ticket is closed so you have to log a new ticket.

The next morning the ticket is still sitting there.  You asked what the status is and they tell you to go talk to the manager for that directory, since it is outside the jurisdition of IT.  You call him.  He tells you you should have access.  You say you do not.  He hits a few keys and tells you to try again.  ACCESS DENIED.  Your supervisor comes over and asks how the report is coming.  You tell her that your don't have access to the server that hols the data.  She tell you that you should.  You say you don't.  She goes to her desk and comes back saying that she has a closed ticket proving IT gave you access.  You try to log in right in front of her.  ACCESS DENIED.  She goes back to her desk.  You call the manager of the directory and tell him it didn't work.  He tells you it should have.  So you go over to his desk to prove you can't get in.  He looks and sees you don't have access.  He gives you access.  Now you can get in.

You go back to your desk.  You supervisor is hovering.  She asks why you are away from your desk when you have work to do.  She really needs for you to finish up that report.  You tell her that you needed to walk over and get access to a directory.  She tells you you don't need to leave your desk for that.  You can just log an IT ticket.  You start laughing insanely and she backs away.  You sit down to do some real work for a change.  The directory contains a link.  You click on the link.  ACCESS DENIED.  You roll your eyes.
