GOOD MORNING, WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

How ALL business phones SHOULD be answered!

GOOD MORNING, WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA .

Press "1" for English.

Press "2" to disconnect until you learn to speak English

And remember, only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

Jesus Christ

and the American Soldier.

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Nice wink.....albeit, biased, but nice nevertheless....

I hope I did not offend anyone but you never know.

Bunzo

Very nice, Bunzo. Hooray for xenophobia!

I assume, then, that you wouldn't be offended if you traveled abroad and couldn't conduct any business at all because you don't happen to speak Japanese, Greek, Spanish, Italian, Russian and French, etc.? Or do you think that all nations in the world should adopt YOUR language, because you're so much better than them?

Give me a friggin' break. By the way, Jesus Christ didn't speak English. Is that a strike against him? And many of the young men and women dying for your freedom don't speak English as a first language. Should we deport their relatives once they are "done" serving if they can't speak English?

That was excellent.

It will probably be erased because you posted an opinion without being politically correct.

Now had it said "praise allah" aiee aieee Death to the infidels!!! it would be okay. Right?

How about this added to the end of # 2.   ..............if you don't wish to speak english there is a rewarding career in corporate communications, management, and drive up window spokesperson awaiting you at any major corporation.

Thank you for posting that. I think it's a great idea.

AOR CEO

P.S. My opinion also.

Don't know about Bunzo, BUT, when I DO conduct business in a foreign land I HIRE AN INTERPRETOR. I have found relying on some kid with a degree and a self  proclaimed ability at another (particularly complex) language has put me eyeball deep in $hit. (China)

No, I am not offended by their lack of knowledge of MY language from MY country and I do not feel that it is their place to accomodate me. Sure I learn how to get to the crapper, where's the hotel, and a few other things necessary, just like most bozo's who self proclaim their fluency in a foreign language. (just so they can claim their part of "pc")

And I really do business, on occasion, in other countries.

SO......YES..........I am VERY OFFENDED,

when I am standing in an airport (Miami comes to mind) in the USA and have to wait through ten minutes of "whatever language" until something is jabbered in english with such a strong "whatever" accent that I and every one else BORN AMERICAN cannot understand it.Even the person speaking it can't understand what they just said!!! Ditto for business.(Drive throughs in particular).

Xenophobia.....how politically correct! Don't have it myself. But I do have a severe case of weeneeophobia!! (hatred of politically correct, new age bozo's).

Sorry outawork, it "don't work" with me kid! And yes, we all have dictionaries just like you!!!

AOR CEO

IF you can't see it , YOU ARE PART OF IT.

So, I guess that "hiring an interpreter" thing didn't work out so well for you, eh? So sorry. Maybe you should only do business in the US until you can LEARN THE LANGUAGE of the country you want to do business with.

And now you're complaining about people who SPEAK English, but have an accent. Wow. You want everyone to speak perfect, unaccented English from their first day in the US? Or at least before they get a job where YOU might encounter them?  And how, exactly, is that NOT xenophobia (sorry you had to look that up. I really didn't think it was that difficult a word).

Let's take a little trip back in time, shall we? When did your ancestors first come to the US? Or are you a Native American? If not, did whoever immigrated here speak the language before they ever stepped foot on US soil? Did they learn to speak perfect, unaccented English in the first week they were here? The first month? Even the first generation? Or did they come from an English speaking country perhaps? Well I, a BORN AMERICAN as you call it, have difficulty understanding some British accents. So please deport them. French accent? Out. Russian? Ditto.

While we're at it, why don't we just deport anyone who is not a WASP with perfect, unaccented English skills then lock the borders tight. Will that make you happy Whatis? Oh, and let's scrape that crazy wording off the Statue of Liberty about sending us your tired, your hungry, etc. We don't REALLY want them at all, right?

A. Learn to read. The interpretor did work out quite well. I canned the know it all "Mr. Global" On the spot and sent him back to the USA where I am sure he has a nice career in corporate miscommunications.

B. If you don't get help from Two Rivers Hospital, please, get help some where.

C. The politically correct "all nations....global.....etc." is now becoming as old and as tiring as the tree hugger agenda.

D. Your age is showing.

E. I am done with you on this thread. Good Bye.

AOR CEO

I will say that since I moved to Arizona from the midwest that I have gotten a little sickened at the people that feel it is just hunky dory to speak Spanish or Portuguese in an AMERICAN corporate office.  I worked with two gals that were always jibber jabbering in Spanish and on more than one occasion I wished I knew the language so that I could wait for them to say something they didnt want me or us to hear and I could have answered them.  I saw a little of this in Illinois and hated it back there too - always wanted to yell you are in AMERICA - now speak ENGLISH !!  At my former large corporation I dealt with alot of South American counterparts and if I couldnt understand them I had friends in my physical location that could translate for me but those same people spoke english in the american offices.  I dont care if I am politically correct at this time in my life - America is getting the shaft in alot of ways and I am tired of it.  WHen the bill that Pres Bush tried to pass on the immigration reform didnt pass I was SICK to my stomach at reading some of the news sites that said the illegal imigrants were crushed because their hopes and dreams were gone - uh EXCUSE ME ?  You are here ILLEGALY and running from the cops - so you have no expecations of hopes or dreams, not unless you do it legally.  In the meantime what about all of our hopes and dreams?  Oh thats right, they dont matter - we are already living our dreams by being a natural born citizen.  To anyone that has never read Bad American - purported to be an interview by Ted Nugent but he denies it - but it is a must read for anyone that is sick and tired of always trying to be so careful of foreigners feelings

Sounds like I struck a nerve. Sorry. Didn't mean to offend your delicate sensibilities.

A. My bad. Sorry. Learn to make your posts unambiguous (is that too big a word as well?) and maybe this problem won't crop up in the future.

B. Thanks for the advice. I'll look into it. Do they have a 12-step program for small-minded bigots? Perhaps you should look into that? Just a thought.

C. WTF? You don't think we're in a global economy? You don't think we need to worry about the planet? Wow, are YOU out in RIGHT field.

D. WTF? Where did that come from?

E. Bye-bye. Hope we don't meet again.
