The waiting game!Remember the days when you interviewed, got an offer and started in two weeks? Not anymore. the process is more like six weeks or more now. Every step involves a week or two of more waiting until you find out if you get to go on to the next step. I hate waiting...I have no patience. I know I don't so right now I am going absolutely nuts. I am waiting for my background check to go through so that I can put in my notice at work. It's been five days...five very long days. I feel like a kid the week before Christmas. I sit here each day and I listen to my boss telling me that we will have to begin working every Saturday and I nod and I say "okay" but I'm dying to say "oh yeah, YOU might be working every Saturday". I know though, until I get the call, I will have to continue to play the game.
Hope it comes sooner than later for you, krc. In my last job, I waited a month, so I know it can drive a person crazy. Thankfully, with my current job, I didn't have that problem. I went for the job through a local agency and I was told they were in the middle of doing interviews. I met with the office manager and hit it off and was hired on the spot. They had to cancel all of the other interviews. | |
