6.) Take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot.)
This is especially true at night.
7.) If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target, I'd do some fancy zig sagging too.) 4 in 100 times; and then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. Run, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want to pass this on to children as well.
8.) Remember, your keys placed between your fingers is a formidable weapon. Pepper spray or mace, in legal strengths, (I'd get the strongest I could find.) is a very effective when sprayed in the eyes, so is perfume in the eyes.
9.) Remember, you are particular vulnerable if you have been out drinking. Make sure you leave with all the people you came with, (ALL OF THEM, CHECK ON EACH OTHER!)and never walk to the parking lot alone.
I know that these have been posted before, but I would like to think that perhaps someone might read this and not become a victim. There are people on this forum that can offer some more safety tips. If you read this gals, please feel free to add as many as you can think of.

I still remember how to cut a fool (as we used to say), so I still sometimes carry a small pocket knife, depending on where I may be. Has a 1-inch blade or smaller.
A metal nail file is good, too.
If you have high heels on, the ones with a thin pointy heel, take 'em off and jab!
All the above is not enough to kill, but if you aim for the face, the eyes, any soft exposed tissue on the face, you may give yourself enough time for the perp to recoil and you to run like hell.
If the perp's in a car, trying to get you inside, run in the opposite direction. They have to spend time turing around to get you. Ha Ha Mr. Perp!
