The Sample Resume
I hate the sample resume. It makes me feel like I'm an idiot! Because no matter what, the sample reasons has always been more qualified than me. I can't even beat Tracy Q. Graduate for a position, because she was smart enough to intern while she was in college. Some of these are just ridiculous and offer zero help, whatsoever. Like a person would honestly forget that they knew Spanish, or some other obviously marketable skill. I'm just pissed because my resume has so many holes, it looks like somebody took a shotgun to it. What sample resume? Maybe you should try to look at this differently. The sample resume is written by someone who is making things up. It is all lies. Your resume is, or should be, based on the truth. Why not post your resume over on the Resume Board and see if some of the very helpful people over there can assist you.
http://monster.prospero.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?nav=messages&tsn=1&webtag=mstresumetips&tid=599 I've set my sample resume up for review, in rough draft, with improvements to come. If you read this, please do hop over and comment on my resume, I'd greatly appreciate it. Ugh. Even in rough draft form, far from perfection, I just do not feel good about it. I'm sure there are plenty of places to improve upon it, but just looking at it, I think, "Wow, I don't know if I'd interview this person". | |
