Some good news (July 14) re horse slaughter via the HSUS and the ASPCA: The horse slaughter plant in IL has been closed. The restraining order has expired and time has run out for this Belgian-owned company. Therefore, at this time, all horse slaughter plants in Illinois are gone. Celebrate a little--this is a win. The fight continues but this battle has been won. Many thanks to all who acted to assist in this anti-slaughter campaign from these boards. There is still a lot to do re equine slaughter but we should pat ourselves on the back for this one. DC Wonderful! I cannot fathom how anyone could condone, or worse, participate in the slaughter of horses. The slaughter of any animals, for that matter, but horses are so magnificent. One win at a time!
I didn't receive that email notification from HSUS or ASPCA. Maybe they are running late....
I didn't receive one either and didn't see it in the news. Wonder why.
