Personal info on applications
With all the indentiy theft now happening in this country why do so many employers require you to not only give them your name and address on an initial application, but more and more of them are requiring a SS# on that same application? Seems like a disaster waiting to happen? I can see them getting your SS# once they offer you a job and before you start working, but on the intial application which could just end up in the trash or lost?
Oh reasoning for this topic was one of my recent prospective employers lost my initial application with all this information on the application. I had originally not included my SS# on my applications and was getting very few interviews so I decided to put that information on the applications and surprisingly my number of interviews increased greatly. I just do not see why they need all this info on an application. If I say I'm eligible to work in the US that should be enough until I'm at least given an interview. | |
