Cover Letter Assistance

Hello All,

I am new to this so I hope I get this straight.  I currently work in a medical manufacturing company in production.  I have a list of about 75 companies that I want to apply to.  I am not sure how to go about applying to all of them.  I want to write a blanket cover letter because I do not know if they have positions available.  I am looking for a QA or QC Technician, R & D Technician, or other Technician position or something similar.  It would have to be a entry level position due to the fact that I don't have a degree.  I have about 12 to 13 years experience in medical assembly.  I need to figure out how to write a good cover letter that will show off my skills and my abilities.  I would appreciate any help I can get.  Thank you so much.

Hi Jabberblue,

Welcome to the Vent Forum. May I suggest that you post this message on the Resume Forum on Monster at;

The folks on the Resume forum, and the resident expert Kim Isaac are awesome! They will help answer all your question. I can tell you that a blanket cover letter is not a good idea, and I would suggest that you start by picking 5 companies at the top of your list. Do your research, get names of those in Human Resourses, and taylor your cover letter and resume to fit each company. The Resume Center has wonderful samples of cover letters, thank-you notes, resumes, etc.

You have a great deal to offer, I wish you the very best!
