Just a reminder the disabled

smile

I would just like to remind the participants on this board that the the disabled have plenty of "vents" too. They probably have much more than the average poster.

I would like to pass that on to the moderators also.

Vent means just that.

Thank you for your cooperation.

STANDING OVATION!!!!!!

Well, don't "ovate" too loud. One may upset some people; especially the animal lovers on this board.

dp

DP, I'm a serious animal lover, that doesn't prevent me from supporting other worthy issues.  If I did not have my dog, I would have checked out of my hell on earth long ago.

I really understand that! It is just the epitome of irony that pets are really treated better than the disabled. I already stated that I have been inside "housing" for disabled people that might make even your dog SICK!

dp

DP, I have been forced to live in homes of others that were/are so filthy and disgusting I did not want my dog to be in them.  My concern for her welfare outweighed mine.  I know families earning a combined income well over $100k/year--that pays for a good life in TX--  whose children's rooms were true health hazards, the floors littered--covered, with cat and dog urine and excrement, and spoiled, discarded food strewn everywhere.  Nobody should live in those conditions, some people just have no standards of hygiene or cleanliness.  They did not use toilet tissue!   They spent all of their money on electronics and cartoon DVDs to keep the kids entertained 24/7.

For many of us, our pets provide our only source of love and comfort in a world of uncaring humans.  And for me, our wild animals are magnificent works of art deserving of protection.  Without my dog, I have no interest in being here.  Her needs will always come ahead of my own.  Right now, I have no money to buy my own medication, but I spent $71 last weekend for her vaccinations and heartworm prevention.  As long as I have her, I will continue to struggle survive.  If anything happens to her, I'm out of here.  She won't be here forever, but I need her to be here with me until I overcome my current dire situation.  I rely on her, as I have past beloved pets, to help me survive the bad times I experience in a pretty damn awful life.

I don't want anyone to suffer, animal or human, except those who perpetrate evil on the rest of us.

Okay.
