Rejection or acceptance Should I callOn May 29 I went for an interview. I thought the interview went well. They looked at my portfolio and made copies. They looked interested. I had every skill they wanted and all the experience required for the position. The interview was almost an hour long. It's less than my current salary, but it's in my field and close to my house. My current job is over a three hour round trip commute. They told me the let me know by the end of that week (June 1 or so) whether they'd call me in for another interview or not. They said they'd let me know either way. Now it's over two weeks and I have no idea whether they are interested or not. Everyday I check the mail for a rejection letter. None comes. I know it's only been two weeks but I am stressing out. I need to find another job desperately.
Should I call them? Should I wait? I don't want to appear desperate. What has been your experience with not hearing when they said they would? I'm starting to think this means definite rejection. I'd absolutely call and check in on the status/process and reiterate your interest. It's been two weeks of no contact. Pestering is interviewing on Wednesday and calling Friday of that week. It's not a guarantee that it is NOT good news since other issues may have pushed the process backburner, but call and see. You'll feel better about it after the call/email. Good luck.
I would definitly reccomend calling. If you had already got the job, I imagine they would have called you, so from my point of view, your only giving yourself another chance at still getting the job by calling them. Also, from what I've heard from many other people is that the more you pester an employer, the more likely you are to get the job. The squeky wheel gets the grease, they say. | |
