Laid off / RelocatedI was laid off in June of 2006 from a company in central IL I relocated in February of 2007 to the St. Louis IL area, where I found work for two months, I am now laid off with no employment and am in a new town where I don' t know anyone. I' m not good at highway driving so I don' t go outside the immediate area where I' m living, the problem is that a lot of the jobs are located around the St. Louis, Mo area. any advice. Also it seems like most job applications are done on line how do I get my resume to standout above all of the others. The biggest secret is use the keywords that are common in the positions you are applying for. Every good postion wants you to be able to use Word documents on a computer. I don' t think there is a St. Louis IL area. If you live in Sauget you could work at P.T' s, or whatever they call it these days. If you won' t go where the good jobs are, you' ll be stuck with the crappy ones. St. Louis has a bus and light rail system. I know, riding the bus sux, so learn to drive or move near the job. | |
