Ticked Fired for earning too muchI am really steaming right now because I just realized that I was fired because my salary was too high and the company lied about their profitability. I was hired as a Sales/Service Manger for a service company back in Oct 2006 (left my old job to take this position) During the interview process I negotiated a higher salary for myself and accepted the position. This is not a public company but I did ask to see their financial(rev and exp) which seemed in order. Well, the winter months are their slow revenue time of year but I still did a great job with streamlining operations and gearing up for the busy season. However, during the course of my employ, I noticed that the company' s finances were not what they represented early. Creditors were constantly calling. The paychecks of the field techs were routinely bouncing (and my paycheck bounced twice) The owners, I soon discovered, were comingling personal funds and using company accounts for very personal expenses (like paying their house notes with the company credit cards), the state and the IRS both have liens against the companies assets (which I learned could be frozen at any time - especially because they had bounced checks to the IRS for back taxes) The company sells franchises and I discovered that they were presenting a "separate" and more "favorable" set of financial to the potential franchise buyers (and me) I am glad to be out of there but I really needed to vent!!! And after I was "downsized they hired someone who they are paying less than half of what I earned. | |
