HR and Bullet Proof GlassIt just occurred to me....I hadn' t mentioned this before...but at the last company I worked at , in city hall. Their HR Dept had a "window" kind of like a teller' s window, and that' s it on the second floor building. They had bullet proof glass at this window, when you filled out a job application or whatever, you barely could get it into the slot at the bottom of the window (before they never had one a few years ago. It was an open window where you could chat with the clerk there...now they had secured it with bullet proof glass (you can, however get inside of the building, just not that particular office. And above it, a security camera. Though, I do have one reason that comes to mind right up front....but I ' ll let you guys take a shot at this, for this reason. After all these postings about I HR,.......what do you think the reason is? LOL. Well, it' s City Hall.If they don' t have security measures in place, they' re crazy! Have you read a newspaper in the last 10 years? People are going in everywhere with guns and shooting up places to "get even" for whatever reason their twisted minds can conjure up. Many private employers have bullet proof glass in their customer service windows. It' s not strange or unusual at all. I wouldn' t work in City Hall, the police department, the courthouse, the fire department or any other government office that didn' t have stringent security. Too many crazy people running around with guns. | |
