Complainers Drive Me Crazy!I am so sick of people in our office who complain about every little thing. People who complain because their commute went from 30 to 40 minutes after our office moved (these are the same people who will never work a minute of overtime). Employees with 6 figure salaries complain because the company no longer supplies free coffee. I' m not thrilled with my current work situation, but I also realize it could be worse. I make an OK buck, I have a managable workload, and I don' t mind what I do. My commute is bad and my growth prospects are not great, but I realize in Corporate America you have to pick your poison. After doing some job hunting, I learned that the grass is not always greener! Most of the complainers are people who have been around for 20+ years. They have no idea what the workforce is dealing with today. I would love to see those people go somewhere else and realize how good they have it! Ok, now I will stop complaining! Thanks, I needed to vent. Why do you care if these people work overtime or not? Do they get their work done? Do they earn a fair salary for their production? If so, you have no complaint. It's not usually the smart kids who stay after school to work on their homework with their teacher. If these 6 figure salaried people count on plusses like free coffee in the office to make up for a higher salary they could be making elsewhere, they are more than welcome to complain. Well, at least as long as it takes to get their point across to the people who make those kinds of decisions. Not everyone has to join the race ot the bottom. I' ve noticed, too, that the more people have, the more they complain. People who have never been unemployed, worried about not being able to pay the electric bill, or concerned about losing their home, have no idea how tough it really can be. It can really damage your own spirit if you can' t shake it off. Venting here is good, much better than venting in the office. That' s what this forum is for! | |
