Donatiing body organsThere was a report in the news that a young man who was a scholar-athlete and was heading for an Ivy League College. Unfortunately, he died in an accident. His parents were told his heart and other organs will help about eighty organ waiting recipients. The question: Would you be willing to donate your organs after you breathe your last breath? Sure, but I don' t think anybody' s actually going to want them after I get finished..... Yes, without a doubt. I don' t need them anymore when i am dead so someone might as well. A donated organ saved my fathers like and I will be forever grateful. If it is something you decide you want to do make sure all of your family members know. Just having it on your drivers license is not enough, a parent or spouse can still say no. Well, if I' m not using them anymore, I certainly would want to give someone else a chance. Or even better, a bunch of people. I also kind of like the idea that a part of me would be out there, hopefully doing some good. I' d also like to think that if I were to suddenly die--say in a car accident--all that aerobics, walking, yoga, and so on wouldn' t be wasted. What I dont like about donating organs is the Mikey Mantle story. He was not a good candidate but yet he went to the front of the line and he died shortly afterwards. They said they have changed the way who goes to the front of the line but I dont believe them. | |
