Last weeks stupidity.Only one prospective employer contacted me last week. I assume after looking over my resume' and cover letter for roughly 5 minutes, he didn' t see enough to at least give me an interview. He writes me back some stupid roundabout nonsense as if to say :while you may have the skills to do this, I don' t think you have the skills to do that. But he did something unique. I haven' t noticed this from any other employer. He left open a door or a hoop as if I' m supposed to jump through it by convincing him otherwise. If I missed something about your resume, please tell me. Um, it' s pretty obvious this idiot made his decision in lesser time than it takes for me to wipe my ( --- ). So I wrote back very professionally - Listen, my resume' and cover letter pretty much speak for themselves, better than I do on a job interview in fact. So if you can' t see what you need to see in the form of potential, then sorry my friend, that' s your problem. Thanks for the consideration. Buh bye. You know, part of the whole concept of a job interview is to gain a tad bit more clarity when dealing with someone you just might want to hire. For instance getting a feel of what a person can do, ask for samples, a demonstration, something a little more tangible that can be done other than by word of mouth. I had intended to if only that opportunity had befallen me. But alas........ Does anyone care to disagree with that observation? Or are you all as completely stupid as I think this employer? ( Seeing as though most of you like to defend them against but necessary harsh critique. ) Again another rhetorical question since you already know what my long time thought process is. What you wrote back is not professional at all, thus YOU blew every potential opportunity you did have with this employer. Sounds like this particular employer threw you for a loop and you didn' t handle it properly and now you have yet another employer that will not want to hire you. It' s funny how you keep saying over and over again that everyone is stupid, but then the employers are employed and so are many of us here on Monster who are trying to give strong, solid advice on how to get a job and keep a job. You are not employed. Who is stupid? I think you let this guy off easy, XT. You should go down to his office and give him an a$$ whup' in for wasting your time reading his reply. On the other hand, at least he didn' t waste your time with an interview. Man, I can really smell a bridge burning somewhere. lol. Good job with the "buh-bye" at the end of your closing email, good call, you'll go far in your career pursuits by talking that way with people. Now, however, I think the only way you can get away with talking to people in that manner , is if you're already independently wealthy. Listen, my resume' and cover letter pretty much speak for themselves, better than I do on a job interview in fact. So if you can' t see what you need to see in the form of potential, then sorry my friend, that' s your problem. Thanks for the consideration. Buh bye. Not only was that unprofessional, it also proved that your written communication skills are weak. He gave you the chance to respond to his assertion that you lacked the skills to do certain things. You blew that chance. You were dang lucky to get even one to repond. Your letter was quite unprofessional and quite unethical too. You should do great working for a corporation. | |
